How we can help

The meaning of “solas” in Irish is “light.”  For us, light represents understanding and acceptance. Our aim is to help each child to be seen, valued, and supported for who they are.

Our comprehensive autism assessments are recognised by the HSE and the Department of Education, and we take a neuro-affirming, child-centred approach in everything we do.

Our experienced multidisciplinary team provides clear, compassionate insights using gold-standard diagnostic tools and current evidence-based practices. We combine clinical expertise with up-to-date research to offer thoughtful, holistic assessments, supporting you and your family at every step of the journey.

What our clients say

"From my first contact with Karen in Solas Psychology the whole experience for autism assessment for my daughter has been exceptional. My concerns as a parent were heard and the assessment process was smooth, professional and thorough. Jessica and Rachel captured more than I have ever had anyone see in my daughter in her lifetime. My observations and concerns were finally seen and validated, resulting in a lengthy in-depth report and recommendations for her future which have helped immensely with her transition to secondary school, where the recommendations are mostly being followed and she is having a really good school experience so far. Her confidence has improved and she now has more understanding of herself. The service for support with follow-on completion of forms was invaluable also. I can't thank the wonderful team at Solas Psychology enough for their hard work, dedication, support and understanding. They are true advocates for young autistic people. What they do has made a huge difference to our lives and the opportunity to shape a positive future with the knowledge we now have."

"I cannot recommend the team at Solas Psychology enough. Karen was my first point of contact and she has been amazing from start to finish. I didn't know what I was asking for and I was quite nervous about the journey ahead but she is so knowledgeable and empathetic, she really made it so easy. We then did assessments with Rachel and Jessica. They were amazing with my son, he felt so at ease with both and I felt totally listened to and understood. Everything was explained perfectly, nothing was rushed or brushed over. I highly recommend Solas, I would give more than five stars if I could."

Charlene, Parent

"I can't recommended Rachel and her team at Solas Psychology highly enough. Firstly, Karen was so patient and helpful when I first called and really helped me to understand the assessment process. The clinic is homely and welcoming, and Jessica was so friendly during the first part of the assessment. Rachel went above and beyond to ensure we covered everything during the parental meeting, took time to discuss the details in our feedback session and answered further questions via email once we had received our full report. Our school said they were blown away with how much time and effort went into the assessment report. They said it was the most thorough and comprehensive report they've ever seen in all of their years working. We really feel that we understand our child so much more after reading through the extensive report and we know how to progress moving forward. We feel so lucky to have gone through this whole process with Solas and will forever be grateful for their insight into our child."

Emily, Parent

"Rachel and the amazing team at Solas Psychology were able to sift through our difficult situation to see my daughter and capture the things she struggles with. They considered every part of my child's life and found ways to support her (and me) so she can thrive. I read that Rachel was very child centred, it was why I chose Solas Psychology, and I wasn't let down. My daughter was struggling with the assessment and Rachel tried to support her in every way she could to help her in that moment, but also to enable Rachel to assess things sufficiently to be able to help her in the future. I feel so lucky to have found this magnificent team. If you are looking for somewhere to go with your child, look no further, you will be in safe hands at Solas Psychology."
